ANGEL WINGS

Decorative foliage plant specifically grown for their large eye-catching silver leaves. Great cool weather performance in containers and landscapes beds. Easy to grow. Soft eye-catching leaves

Temperature: Encourage root growth with warm temperature propagation. Recommended night temperature of 68 F. temperature. Misting in propagation should be used for the first 10 -14 days to mitigate excessive wilting and to maintain high humidity. Propagation environments set up with high indirect lighting will help to warm day temperatures and encourage rapid rooting.

Fertilize: Use a fertilization concentration of 75 to 100 ppm.

After root: Expect root initiation to occur after 7-10 days. Mitigate propagation stretch by moving rooted cuttings to an area of increased light, cooler temperatures and reduced mist. Movement of rooted cuttings should only occur after leaves can resist wilting.

More information: Refrain from placing tissue culture plantlets deep in the growth media. Instead, make a small divot in the growth media and place the plantlet gently in the divot. Plan on 4 weeks of propagation after sticking for well-established roots to grow.

Environment: Environment is critical to good Senecio Angel wings growth after transplant. Transition rooted plugs at transplant to an area of slightly increased light, cooler temperatures and reduced humidity. Recommended light concentration of 5000 to 6000 ft candles with a night temperature of 62 - 65 F.

After rooting: Reduce irrigation and allow pots to dry slightly between irrigations. Night temperatures can be lowered to 62 F with a daytime temperature high of 70 F. Finish in higher light conditions with a target light concentration of 8000 ft candles.

More information: Refrain from planting plugs deep into growth media. Stem needs to be above surface level for optimal growth. Additionally, avoid overwatering roots. Smaller containers can increase soil drainage and minimize the potential for water logging. pH levels should be held between 5.8 and 6.2. Monitor pH in the presence of interveinal chlorosis. Avoid rising pH by use of acid fertilization. Additionally, review irrigation practices and allow drying to occur in between irrigations after root establishment.

CLEAN STOCK: Susceptibility of Senecio to viruses are well known. Kientzler Senecio come from Kientzler Innovaplant with commitment to unsurpassed clean record of production reliability.

Crop Scheduling: Give 20 weeks of lead time for tissue culture orders. Propagate plantlets at week 41 to 48 to finish crops for March and April. For a 6 inch container, expect 6 weeks of propagation and 12 weeks after transplant to finish.
